Not Psycho Enough? (V/A Dull City Records-http://home.online.no/~gt-john/)
Never been a big fan of Cosmic Psychos, but I have respect for their music - specially their attitude. I saw them live twice and it was good fun. "Not Psycho Enough" is really fantastic. Mormones and Bad Preachers are totally crazy. Mormones are from Norway and I never heard about them before. They do a really kick ass cover of "All Right Tonight". Great fuzz guitars. Bad Preachers from Belgium are not so unknown. Their version of "Custom Woman" is super heavy and fast as hell with lot of wah wah fuzz solos + punk energy. Sloggy from Luxembourg do really weird version of "Lost Cause" - fuzz guitar vs jungle beats and weird noises. Cool girl vocal gives special dimension. Superhellicopter Ltd are maybe the best band to cover Cosmic Psychos. Their version of "Down On The Farm" is fantastic - very loud fuzz riffs and lot of punk energy. Dull City Records rules!!!!

Powerdealer (El Collectif-cd)
Latest DIY-effort by Belgium's longest running beer guzzling motorpunks. Y'all know we're totally knoched out by this fucked up hatemachine and up to now there're no signs things will change soon: these 10 songs are a fucking blast! Bad Preachers race their Harley's on the highway with pure kerosine in their fuel tanks, ready to go straight through their noise barrier. Take equal parts of Cocknoose and Cosmic Psychos, mix it up with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a couple of icecold 12-packs and put the volume far in the red. Bad Preachers will be your party pals! After a few years break original member Sick Boy is back aboard on bass and after more than 20 years of alcohol and R'n'R, Bad Preachers are running stronger than ever. Time to raise some more hell, motherfuckers!

Ass In Rubber (El Collectif-cd)
Hell yeah, and showing a hot chick with her ass seated on o motorbike on the cover! Just to make clear these Brussels drunks are in for 3 fuckin' tireburners thet silply will knock yer dick in the dirt. "No Work", "Drinkin' With The Devil" & "I Just Wanna Rock!" just leave no doubt what Bad Preachers are all about: party, booze, alcohol & wild R'n'R. And these blokes don't just alk about it, they go out and fuckin' do it too. Recently there's been a switch on guitar, but with that said all differences with their earlier stuff are discussed. The band still blasts out some killer buzz-saw drivrn 3-chord punkrawk that ses free a amazing shot of adrenaline and energy. Believe me, there's no other band like this in belgium and I'm damn sure you'll have to search Europe very hard to come up with a similar effort. This cd-r is just meant as a promo introduction, but you'd better get hold of their full-on "Kill 'n' Destroy" album. Keep on sinnin!

Not Psycho Enough? (V/A Dull City Records-http://home.online.no/~gt-john/)
This is the first in a series of single comps that pay tribute to Aussie punk n’ roll champs the Cosmic Psychos. All I know/remember about the Psychos is that they were big in the 80’s, and they had a thing for football. Or wrestling. And I think they sounded like a punk AC/DC. Or like the Saints. Anyway, given my relative ignorance of the subject matter, I can’t say how well these 4 tracks hold up when compared to the originals, but…well, Sloggy – who are from Luxembourg! – do a pretty acidic space-rock thing on “Lost Cause”, and they really lay into a nasty, nauseous groove with it. If you ever had a drug turn on you in a key moment, then you will really FEEL this one. Superhelicopter LTD are German, but may very well have some Swedish blood in ‘em (or on ‘em), cuz they do the big-time arena sleaze sound on “Down on the Farm” like…fuck, like a Super Hellacopters. Bad ass. No wonder they ignored my request for a demo last year, the fuckers don’t even need my help. On the flip, the Mormones (from Norway) lay down a noisy bed of fuzzed-out garage slop that sounds kinda like empty suitcases being thrown down a flight of stairs. Underneath the howling and scraping, it’s “Alright Alright”. But they’re pretty far from alright, if ya ask me. Finally, my old Belgian pals the Bad Preachers turn “Custom Woman” into a flamethrowing cock n’ roll scorcher with a sudden descent into stoner-fuzz rawk. Righteous. I don’t think you have actually be a Psychos fan to dig this quartet of dirty Euro-trash ditties, but I’m sure it helps. Either way, if you like yr rock ugly and sick, then it’s ON, baby.
